In The Beginning ... CC #252

In the beginning she was  just a face in the crowd

In the beginning I thought she was rude and loud

In the beginning  I thought “Just look at her hair!”

In the beginning I thought “A face with no makeup. How rare.”

In the beginning I thought “Intriguing, that smile.”

In the beginning I thought “Maybe I’ll stick around for awhile.”

In the beginning I thought “She seems pretentious.”

In the beginning I thought  “A bit insecure, I guess.”

Then you walked over and said, “Hello, I’m Sally!”

Then I thought “Is is possible to be this happy?”

Then I said, “Hello Sally, my name is Tim."

Then she said, “Nice to meet you. Can I see you again?”

Suddenly I realize that  she is a friend in the crowd

Suddenly I realize it’s only her music which is loud.

Suddenly I realize I actually like her style of hair

Suddenly I realize her face is beautiful bare

Suddenly I realize the sun is dim compared to her smile

Suddenly I realize I want to be part  of her life for a long while

Suddenly I realize what I thought pretentious is actually gregarious

Suddenly I realize my own insecurities in my efforts to impress

Suddenly I realize it might be a big mistake leading with my chin

Then  I realize that being together will be great for Sally and Tim.

Searching....Creative Challenge #251

Creative Challenge … Searching

So often our journey takes us into an unknown area

We fight fiercely against windmills looking for our Dulcinea

Is it merely curiosity that compels us ‘to boldly go?’

Our trek may not include stars, but there are adventures below

Many don suits of rubber to explore the waters of the deep blue sea

They willingly accept the danger and the risk to be all they can be

Some toil for hours with pen, paper or PC at work or at home

Their goal is the creation of the first absolutely perfect poem

On the brink of the next great adventure we are always perching

We may not have found it yet, but we must continue searching.

Twst II: Creative Challenge #250

A young man and his date were sitting in his car listening to the radio and looking at the stars.

A news announcement came on advising people to be on the lookout because a man had escaped from the Criminally Insane Detention Facility in the nearby city.

They gave a detailed description of the man and ended with, “He lost his right arm many years ago and now has a hook where his right hand should be.”

The young lady was a little nervous, but her date tried to soothe her. “That place where he escaped is nearly 50 miles from here. Even if he was heading this direction it will be impossible for him to travel very fast through the swamps and stubble fields between here and there".

That soothed her somewhat, but he soon realized the mood was gone, and the moment lost. He decided to call it a night and took her home.

He pulled up to her house, and being the perfect gentleman that he was, he got out of the car and went around to open the car door for her.

He considered himself to be a man among men, captain of the football team in High School and an Ex-Marine yet he lost control of his bladder and fell to his knees when he spotted a hook sticking out of the passenger door.

Twist: Creative Challenge #250

She was a gal of very few frills

When she danced, it gave you the chills

When she shook her big hips

Trying to learn how to  twist

Everyone ran screaming for the hills.
