This week marks a return to the old Multiply Days when I used to write my weekly contribution using a different style of poetry each time. To start things off, this is a Pantoum
Some things we commit to memory
I remember his gentle hands
He would squeeze my shoulder and dry every tear
He taught me how to tie my own tie
I remember his gentle hands
He taught me how to sift the sand
He taught me how to tie my own tie
He was funny, even when he didn’t try
He taught me how to sift the sand
His presence made me feel so grand
He was funny, even when he didn’t try
He would say, “Now’s the time .. do or die!”
His presence made me feel so grand
I guess I loved him, my Old Man
He would say “Now’s the time .. do or die!”
He said “Always tell the truth, never lie.”
I guess I loved him, my Old Man
I’m proud that I am wearing his brand
He said “Always tell the truth, never lie.”
Pretty good advice as time goes by.
Some things we commit to memory
No matter what happened, I did not fear
He would squeeze my shoulder and dry every tear
