A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night

A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night is an album of classic 20th-century standards sung by Harry Nilsson. The album was arranged by Sinatra arranger Gordon Jenkins, and produced by Derek Taylor.

This album is notable in being a standards album produced decades before standards albums started to become popular again. The album met with modest chart success, but is often regarded as the finest example of Nilsson's virtuosic singing. The title is an allusion to Shakespeare's Henry V, Act 4, in which the Chorus refers to Henry's nocturnal visit to his troops as "a little touch of Harry in the night". It was re-released in 1988 as A Touch More Schmilsson in the Night containing an intro and outro and seven additional songs from the recording session.

The Grandson

 

Finnian chilling out at home on Sunday June 9, 2013 at 5 days old.

News from Ohio

I received word today that I am officially a Gradpa! As of 3:08 AM EST on June 4, 2013 my grandson Finnian Knohr Culey was born at home in Cleveland OH. Mother (Britt-Marie) and son are doing fine.

Finnian is the son of Shane, who is the son of Tim, who is the son of Giles, who is the son of Dennis who is the son of John who emigratged to Wisconsin from Ireland during the potato famine.

At a Snail's Pace

Don’t rush me, I’m going fast as I can

Just hurry along, I’ll be there in awhile

I’ll get there eventually, that is my plan.

A tasty plant ahead, that makes me smile.

 

There certainly are others more speedy than I

They zip along madly as fast as they can go

It all seems pointless, I can’t see the reason why

At a snail’s pace or not, our future is still escargot.
