Twst II: Creative Challenge #250

A young man and his date were sitting in his car listening to the radio and looking at the stars.

A news announcement came on advising people to be on the lookout because a man had escaped from the Criminally Insane Detention Facility in the nearby city.

They gave a detailed description of the man and ended with, “He lost his right arm many years ago and now has a hook where his right hand should be.”

The young lady was a little nervous, but her date tried to soothe her. “That place where he escaped is nearly 50 miles from here. Even if he was heading this direction it will be impossible for him to travel very fast through the swamps and stubble fields between here and there".

That soothed her somewhat, but he soon realized the mood was gone, and the moment lost. He decided to call it a night and took her home.

He pulled up to her house, and being the perfect gentleman that he was, he got out of the car and went around to open the car door for her.

He considered himself to be a man among men, captain of the football team in High School and an Ex-Marine yet he lost control of his bladder and fell to his knees when he spotted a hook sticking out of the passenger door.

Twist: Creative Challenge #250

She was a gal of very few frills

When she danced, it gave you the chills

When she shook her big hips

Trying to learn how to  twist

Everyone ran screaming for the hills.

Pout: Creative Challenge #249

It was a warm and gentle spring day so I went out

I hadn’t gone far when I encountered a lazy lout

I asked, “What is this all about,” as I gave him a clout.

“How dare you flout your indolence, you sprout?

“You better scout the route back and finish my grout!”

He stuck a single finger out and I began to shout

“This means all-out war! Where did I leave my knout?

He dropped to his knees in an effort to appear devout

“Pray about this,” says I, as I punched him in the snout.

He jumped to his feet and began dancing all about

Little did he know he had encountered a redoubt

He had delusions of adequacy this common roustabout

If this had been a ball game it would have been a shutout

Says I, “Come then, show me what you’ve got. I need a workout”

He asked for a timeout and gathered up his surtout

Suddenly he had a turnabout and my virtues he began to tout

“Very well, then,” says I, “Get back to work and lose the pout.”

You don’t have to pout, there is plenty more of Creative Challenge to go around.

The Color Of: Creatilve Challenge #248

Red is the color of the rose when in full bloom
Red is the color of your nose, because so often it is blown
Red is the color of your anger so recently shown
Red is the color of the fire which is found in your eye
Red is the color of your fury as your lover says goodbye

Blue is the color of your mood, seemingly dark as a well
Blue is the color of your words as you send him to hell
Blue is the color of the sea with its waves so tall
Blue is the color of the ocean into which he should fall

Bright yellow is the color of the sun, shining high above
Bright yellow is the color of your attitude with your new love
Bright yellow is the color of the flower you wear in your hair
Bright yellow is the color of the sunflowers we see everywhere.
