Correct?

Choices

Light
Of day
Disappears
You are alone
In the deep darkness
Dangers lurk all around
Your heart beats so rapidly
Myocardial infarction
Each breath feels like daggers in your lungs
Stand and fight or be sensible and flee?

Be sensible and flee but where to go?
Should you charge ahead or turn around?
Decisions must me made right now
No time to procrastinate
Death if you hesitate
Must make up your mind
Uncertain foe
Stay or go?
Choice is
Yours

  2. It doesn't take much to get me going, the difficult part is knowing when to stop. There is a thin line between being creative and being a nuisance.

  4. So, are those YOUR reactions to what you read or the reactions others have to what you write?

I see tons of writing on MP reflecting a myriad of levels of skills, techniques, structure, grammar, etc, and at least in my way of thinking the very fact that they had the courage to put it up automatically qualifies them to receive a giant "ATTABOY" (or girl).

Even if I am specifically asked to comment on a particular style or what changes could be made I offer none.

The reason is that in the past year at least 4 people have come to me asking for my help. I put on my professor's hat and made the mistake of actually believing they truly wanted my help and/or assistance so I offered a few suggestions.

I guess I must have naive as hell because all four of them have me blocked now.

Now when somebody askes for advice on writing or poetry I send them a link to web pages that offer advice and I am keeping my mouth shut.

Somebody said the mark of true diplomat is a person who listens to two friends having an argument about something and knows they are BOTH wrong, but still says nothing.

  5. Someone once said, "if you have the choice to be right or kind, choose kind."
    Heya ...Happy Birthday evening Tim!

  6. It is often said, "Just do the right thing." Better advice might be to do the correct thing. The correct thing might simply be to stay silent. If pressed for a response, hedge. "I truthfully don't know what I would do if faced with such a difficult decision."

I'm glad you reminded me of my birthday. I explains why so many people in my neighborhood are shooting off firecrackers!
