Mature

It was at the Battle of Marston Moor

When I first learned of amampour

I was definitely taken aback, to be sure

All this time I thought I was in Kuala Lumur

My recollections are from my role as observateur

And in case you are feeling just a little unsure

What I am relating to you is truth, and not green manure

It was at this very same location where I met my paramour

It was all very much a case of haute couture

When I first saw her I made a sound sounding like jabbour

I was smitten, that is for sure, but my thoughts were quite pure

After all, I am not a neophyte, I know how to act very mature.

This is an example of a type of poem called a “Monoryhme” (can you guess why?)
